This notice covers Paws & Days: the iPhone app, this website and email support. For privacy questions or requests, contact privacy@pawsanddays.app. For help using the app, contact support@pawsanddays.app.
The short version
- The iPhone app has no analytics, no tracking and no ads. It has no account, no analytics or advertising SDK, and it does not send us your records or how you use it. Its App Store privacy label is “Data Not Collected”.
- Your dog’s records stay on your iPhone unless you export or share them yourself.
- Only this website uses optional measurement, to count visits and App Store button taps. For visits from the United States and its territories, Canada (except Québec), Australia and New Zealand, it is on by default and you can switch it off. In the European Union, the United Kingdom, Switzerland and everywhere else it stays off unless you allow it. Details
Your app recordbook
Paws & Days stores dog profiles, care records, appointments, photos, and optional litter and puppy records on your iPhone. The app does not require an account and does not upload your recordbook to a developer-run database.
Widgets and calendar
Widgets use a small local cache of selected record details and resized photos. Private care notes, medication instructions and contacts are excluded from this cache. Names and event titles are hidden until enabled in the widget. Memory preferences control automatic photo resurfacing. Adding an appointment to Apple Calendar opens Apple’s editor for you to confirm; private notes are excluded and later changes are not synchronized.
Photos and permissions
You choose photos through Apple’s photo picker. Imports are resized and converted to JPEG without source metadata. The app keeps an unfiltered imported version alongside any styled version. Saving a keepsake to Photos may request permission to add an image. Local notifications are optional and need your permission.
Sharing is your choice
The app opens Apple’s share sheet with the image, report, or backup you chose. Keepsakes include only selected moment content; dates and captions are optional. Chapters show selected photos with their recorded dates and short captions in a preview before export. Care packs include contacts and medication instructions only if you select them. CSV exports exclude record notes unless selected. Other apps, people, and services you send files to have their own privacy practices. There is no app-hosted social feed.
Backups and deleting data
You choose where to export a recordbook backup, including your own iCloud Drive. A backup contains your records, notes, and photos and is not password-protected. A copy stored only on the same phone does not protect against losing that phone. There is no automatic multi-device recordbook synchronization.
iOS device backups follow your system settings. Deleting the app removes its local recordbook. Separately exported backups, shared images and PDFs, and system backups are managed in the places where you saved them.
Purchases
Apple handles payments and provides purchase and subscription status through StoreKit. The app uses that status to unlock features. We do not receive your payment-card details. Restoring purchases is separate from restoring your recordbook.
Analytics and this website
The app: Paws & Days for iPhone has no analytics, tracking or advertising. It contains no analytics or advertising SDK, has no account, and does not send us your recordbook or usage events. Its App Store privacy label is “Data Not Collected”. Apple may give developers aggregate App Store statistics, and crash reports only if you choose to share them with developers in your iPhone settings.
This website: the public website uses Google Analytics to measure visits, App Store button taps, and prints and PDF downloads of the free printables, and Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits and page performance without cookies. Both follow the same regional rule. For visits from the United States and its territories, Canada (except Québec), Australia and New Zealand, optional measurement starts by default and you can switch it off at any time; outside the United States, a one-time notice says so and offers Opt out. In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland and all other places, including Québec, or when the region is unknown, it waits for your permission. You can decline or change your choice at any time using Privacy choices in the footer. Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track keep optional measurement off everywhere. A regional default is never saved as your consent. Neither tool runs before that rule or your choice allows it.
Google may process browser and device information, approximate location and analytics cookie identifiers. Advertising personalization, Google signals and automatic enhanced measurement are disabled. We send fixed page names, button positions and short campaign labels from our own links (for example “meta” or “launch”), not dog names, photos, care records or free-form text. When you arrive from a well-known search engine or social site, such as Google, Bing, DuckDuckGo, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest or Reddit, we send only that site’s address (for example https://www.google.com), never the page or search you came from. Ad click identifiers such as fbclid or gclid are removed from the address before measurement starts and are never sent; at most, the network that added one is recorded as the visit’s source. Support, legal pages, unknown URLs and preview sites are excluded from optional measurement. Website taps are not confirmed app installs or purchases.
Choices are stored in this browser for up to 180 days; analytics cookies expire after 90 days. Google Analytics event and user data retention is set to two months, without resetting it on a return visit; aggregate reports may remain longer. When storage is unavailable, choices may apply only to the current browsing session. Cloudflare serves and protects the site and may process ordinary request information such as IP addresses; its optional Web Analytics script loads only under the choice above. An edge request determines regional eligibility without sending your country to the page. Your dog’s recordbook is never sent to this website. Website measurement data is processed by Google LLC and Cloudflare, Inc., including in the United States, under their data processing terms and transfer safeguards such as the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. Read Google’s privacy policy and Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
Support email
Our support, privacy and hello addresses share one inbox hosted by Namecheap Private Email. If you write to us, we receive your email address, message and any attachments you choose to send. We use them to answer your request and resolve the issue. Please avoid sending full recordbook backups or unnecessary personal information.
We keep correspondence only as long as needed to handle the request, maintain relevant support records or meet legal obligations. Our service providers may process information outside your country under their applicable privacy terms and safeguards. Read Namecheap’s privacy policy.
Why we process information
Where UK, European or Swiss data protection law applies, and in other places where the law requires it, we use consent for optional website analytics. Where measurement starts by default, we rely on our legitimate interest in understanding which pages and links help people find the app, kept small by the limits above; you can object at any time with Privacy choices, and Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track count as an objection. Where US state privacy laws apply, we do not sell or share personal information for targeted advertising. We rely on our legitimate interests in operating a secure website and answering inquiries for essential hosting and general support. Where a request is necessary to provide a service you purchased, we process it to perform that contract. We may retain information where required by law. We do not sell your support messages or use them for advertising.
Your privacy choices
You control the records on your iPhone and any backups or shared copies you create. We cannot retrieve or delete your local recordbook remotely. You can ask us about access, correction or deletion of information you sent to support, or request restriction, portability or object to processing where those rights apply, by emailing privacy@pawsanddays.app. You may also raise a concern with your local data protection authority.
Where consent is required for website analytics, you can withdraw it using Privacy choices in the footer. Withdrawing consent does not affect earlier processing. Essential hosting and responding to support requests do not depend on analytics consent.
