Free printable puppy weight chart for litters
A clean daily weight sheet for a litter of up to eight puppies: litter details, collar IDs and a grid for the first weeks. You write the weights; your vet tells you what to expect.
Or fill it in below and print it. Nothing you type on this page is saved or sent anywhere, so print or choose Save as PDF before you close the page.
How to use it
- Give each puppy a collar color or ID and write it in the Puppies table, with sex, birth weight and time.
- Weigh on the same scale, at about the same time each day, in the same units (grams or ounces), and write the weights in the daily grid.
- Take the sheet to every vet check, so the vet sees each puppy’s numbers at a glance.
This sheet records weights. It doesn’t say what a puppy should weigh or gain: ask your vet what to expect for your litter and when to call.

Good habits for weigh-ins
- Zero the scale first with the bowl or towel you weigh puppies in.
- Write each weight straight away, before you pick up the next puppy.
- Keep the collar colors on and check them at every weigh-in, so the numbers stay with the right puppy.
- Note anything unusual in the Notes column, and ask your vet about any puppy that worries you.

Questions people ask
How often should I weigh newborn puppies?
Many breeders weigh daily in the first weeks. Ask your vet how often to weigh your litter and what gain to expect.
Should I use grams or ounces?
Either works if you stick to one. Grams give finer steps for small puppies. Write the unit on the sheet.
What if I have more than eight puppies?
Print a second sheet and continue the numbering, for example Pup 9 to Pup 16.
Does this chart tell me whether a puppy is gaining enough?
No. It records weights only. Your vet decides what is normal for your litter.
Is anything I type saved or sent?
No. The page has no form and stores nothing. Print it or save it as a PDF before you close the page.
